Mike Heil

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, which is where I acquired my taste for road kill and running around in tighty whities. I've been known as many different things over time: son, brother, husband, father, friend, idiot, human shield, psychologist, and taxidermist. One constant has been my use of humor to cope with the insanity that surrounds me and to hide the fact that I don't know what the hell is going on.

I'm pleased to add "Author" to my list of nouns, although The Quest for Immortality and Other Misguided Adventures is actually not my first publication. I've written many technical reports throughout my career and am co-editor of a book on air traffic controller selection. The Quest for Immortality is simply the first time I've intentionally tried to make people laugh at my words.

My wife, kids, and parents provide me with a lot of great material for my stories. I created a blog four years ago and I've taken much of that material and put it into The Quest for Immortality. I reside in Maryland with my wife, two children, and the ghost of a dead algae-eating fish.
