Richard W. Voelz

Rev. Richard W. Voelz, PhD is Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA.

He formerly served as the Senior Minister of the Johns Creek Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), an Open & Affirming congregation in metro Atlanta, Georgia. He has over a decade of ministry experience in various contexts. A graduate of Vanderbilt University's Graduate Department of Religion with the PhD in Homiletics and Liturgics, Rich has interests in contemporary homiletic theory, particularly how preaching relates to the areas of critical pedagogy, adolescent youth, reproductive loss and adoption, and public proclamation. He also has research interests in preaching and worship in the Stone-Campbell Movement.
