Sean Doyle

Dr. Sean Doyle is a distinguished academic and industry professional, currently serving as the President of the Professional Competency Academy, where he is at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence with human intelligence to enhance professional skills. With a PhD in Business Organization & Management from Capella University and an MBA in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from Schiller International University, Sean brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique international perspective to his role. His academic journey, enriched by a diverse student body from around the globe, has been foundational in shaping his approach to education and professional development.

Before concentrating on upskilling professionals with human capabilities augmented by artificial intelligence, Sean amassed extensive experience in the hospitality industry. With a Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management and an Associate of Applied Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from New York City College of Technology, he honed his skills in culinary arts and business, working alongside some of the nation's finest chefs. This experience ignited his passion for education, leading him to a 15-year tenure as a chef and a culinary science educator at New York University's Department of Nutrition.

In addition to his academic achievements, Sean is an accomplished consultant with 14 years of experience running a boutique hospitality consulting firm. His expertise spans customer relationship management, business crisis management, operations management, and more, primarily aiding small businesses in the hospitality sector. His entrepreneurial ventures include a successful mortgage company and a notable career in real estate as a licensed Realtor® in Florida, working on land, residential, and commercial property transactions.

Currently, Sean (known as Dr. D.) is a Professor in the Strategy and Marketing department at Purdue University Global, where he has been teaching for over 19 years. His research interests are varied and include strategic management, marketing strategy, strategic customer relationship management, organizational behavior, ethics, and entrepreneurial leadership, among others.

Beyond his professional and academic life, Sean is a devoted father and a hiking enthusiast. He values social connections, often hosting dinner parties and enjoying quality time with friends and family. His motto, "Work Hard... Play Harder," encapsulates his dynamic approach to life, emphasizing a balance between rigorous professional endeavors and engaging personal experiences.
