Juan Rader Bas

Juan Rader Bas is an Asian American writer who was born in Manila, Philippines, raised in Hong Kong and ended up in the United States. His debut novel, Back Kicks And Broken Promises, earned 'Approved Book' status by IndieReader.com and was a finalist for Asian Books Blog's 2015 Lunar Book of the Year Award. Juan's screenplay, Aliens Among Us, Part I: Discovery reached the quarterfinal round of the 1996 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition and his work has also appeared in several martial arts magazines and instructional videos. Juan also runs two blogs - Contemplations and Panlasa.

When not writing, Juan works as a middle school Health and Physical Teacher and high school volleyball coach. He's a passionate supporter of Arsenal Football Club, a two-time New Jersey State Taekwondo Poomsae (Forms) Champion and avid home-cook. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, son and dog.
