Except for a brief period of one too many Unsolved Mysteries episodes when she contemplated becoming a police detective in the sixth grade, Jessica Nunemaker always wanted to be a writer. She obtained her first writing job by accident.
Since beginning Little Indiana in 2009, Jessica has become host of a Little Indiana segment on the state-wide Emmy award-winning PBS show The Weekly Special, presents to groups large and small on town and community, and has bi-monthly articles appear inside a local paper, sandwiched between the latest farming news and high school sports.
Thanks to touring these small Hoosier towns, Jessica has pet a baby tiger, fed alpaca, visited Indiana's biggest and tallest waterfalls, gone horseback riding through the Hoosier National Forest, taken a boat ride in a cave, visited a robotic dairy, enjoyed the first indoor beach in the Midwest, eaten at the first Indonesian restaurant in the Midwest--and once even heard the phrase, "Did you want to see the embalming table in the basement?" and lived to tell the tale.
Her photography, writing, and/or website have been featured in publications ranging from AAA magazine, Indianapolis Monthly, a Hebrew gift guide, and a Chinese newspaper.
Lacking any sense of direction, when she is not getting her husband and two boys (ages 10 and 6) hopelessly lost, she is busy plotting out where to find the next spot to stay, play, or eat!
