I was raised in northern Nevada and have a fascination with the history of the state. I am a journalism graduate from the University of Nevada Reno. For seven years I edited The Native Nevadan, a newspaper focusing on the Indian tribes of the state. From there I went to Chicago where I became the managing editor of two national travel magazines and also worked in direct-mail marketing, book packaging and public relations. I've written thousands of nonfiction magazine articles and was managing editor for three travel books, but The Corner Saloon was my first foray into fiction, followed by KEEPER: Trial by Fire. I live in St. George, Utah, and when I'm not writing I'm likely in an exercise class or sitting by the pool waiting for my next inspiration.
