I am a guy that is interested in all things money. I started my own website a couple years back - http://www.moneyahoy.com. MoneyAhoy is a website devoted to money saving, making money, and investment ideas. My goal here is to help you reach your financial dreams and improve your life! I’m on a journey to become wealthy, and through the process I hope we can learn from each other how to optimize our lives to maximize our money and lead a more fulfilling life.

Derek Chamberlain (that’s me) founded and currently runs MoneyAhoy.com. So far, I’ve been relatively successful at making money, and saving a lot of money over the years. In all honesty, I’ve completely butchered investing before starting this blog. I tried my hand at the whole day trading thing and failed miserably. But, that’s a story for another day…

On this blog I plan to share with you financial successes and failures that I have experienced. My hope is that you’ll be able to learn something from these stories and apply it to your own life, or share something that you’ve learned that can help me or other site users. Hired in at DuPont in 2003

Founded WisePair Inc. with Dan Waters in 2007

Released WiseCalc (now called FrugalCalc) as a freeware software application in 2008

Began Executive MBA program at VCU in 2012
