Tim Cables

Tim Cables brings over 25 years of experience working with youth—from middle school to college age—as a foreign exchange coordinator, youth director, and retreat leader. Raised in Oregon, Tim’s roots run deep across the state, from the windswept beaches of the Oregon Coast to the fertile Willamette Valley and the rugged high desert of Eastern Oregon.

A lifelong traveler and adventurer, Tim has journeyed across the United States and much of the American West, explored Europe, and visited Russia, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Mexico, and Central America. He also spent a memorable season living in Hawaii, where he learned to surf, snorkel, and scuba dive—proof that adventure knows no age limit.

In addition to his work with youth, Tim has had a dynamic career in advertising and promotions. His creative pursuits include writing locally performed stage plays, producing television commercials, and working in newspaper advertising. He has served as area marketing director for the Oregon Marketplace program, chaired the Chamber of Commerce Promotions Committee, and facilitated the Youth Entrepreneurs Program through the Small Business Development Center. He was also the producer and director of the 1983 Newport Fine Art & Jazz Festival.
