Luca Bianchi

Luca was born in Milano in 1963. He decided to learn statistics at the University thanks to a personal interest started since he was very young and then became an actuary. He belongs to the national (Italy) association of actuaries since 1988. Luca has been working as "appointed actuary" in the life insurance industry since he was aged 26. He was initially involved in programming (Visual Basic, host) the calculation of reserves for big portfolios of insurance contracts and in the forecast of the balance sheet over 3-5 years, later on more widely in the balance sheets under different kinds of GAAP. Apart from the daily work, he spent 2 years as project leader for implementing IFRS4-PHASE I in the technical systems and - later - 3 years as project leader of all the pillars of Solvency II.

He joined the risk function in early 2014 and more recently the actuarial function.

Luca has been actively involved in committees held by the national association of insurers since long time as well as in internal committees of the association of actuaries.

When he ceases to work and before dinner he practises running. Running and cross country sky are his passions which are not seldom well combined with tourism abroad. He reached in Italy the 6th seasonal position in 2014 in the 10 km ranking of his age class.
