Myron M. Persoff

Myron Persoff, MD was born in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1941. He went to Palm Beach High School, then the University of Florida for his premedical education, earning his medical degree at the University of Miami. He joined the US Navy for his internship, after which, he became the Chief Medical officer for the USS Spiegel Grove on a special mission to find the missing Scorpion nuclear submarine in the Azores. He then attended the Naval Aviation Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida becoming a Flight Surgeon and was sent to Subic Bay in the Philippines serving as the Officer in Charge of the Navy's Paramedic Team One, a para-rescue unit during the Viet Nam conflict. His team trained air crewmen in rescue and survival techniques as well as performing such rescues of downed pilots and air crews. His training in General Surgery began in Tampa, Florida, finally his Plastic Surgical training was obtained in Houston, Texas with the prestigious Cronin and Brauer and Biggs Clinic where his Mentor was Dr. Thomas D. Cronin, known world-wide as the inventor of the Silicone breast implant and his unique techniques to repair cleft lips and palates. After training he practiced in south Florida, eventually specializing in Breast Surgery. He practiced for 35 years retiring when he developed Parkinson's Disease. He is now actively retired, living in Mexico.
