John Howes

John Howes was born in Worcester, England, in 1967. Having trained as an electronics technician, he has worked in the industry for most of his life. Books such as The Lord of the Rings, the Heliconia Trilogy and Dune have inspired him to create a myriad of science fiction and fantasy stories that are finally coming to print. His first novel Zero Magenta was published in 2015. A book which asked the difficult question: If Artificial intelligence is real, where do utility and humanity begin and end?

John's biggest goal was to write an original medieval fantasy which he finally realised in 2023 with the release of Stone and Sceptre, the first part of the Nifaran Chronicles. The second part, Vega Rising, has been written and will be published shortly. Together they tell the story of Jem Poulterer, a chicken farmer from the small village of Denbry, who finds himself involved in an adventure which will reveal much about his parents and a true past long hidden.

John still lives in Worcester with his wife, Lisa.
