CURTIS HAWK

Curtis Hawk is an author who has retired from the United States Army after 24 years, where Curtis earned the rank of Command Sergeant Major. As a combat veteran he has dedicated a lot of his time to the veterans, by continuing to fight to maintain the rights that were bestowed upon them and to ensure that they are continually cared for, that the POW/MIA’s be not forgotten and shall always be in the forefront of the American peoples memory and honored for the sacrifices that they and their families endured.

He continues his career as a County Emergency Management Agency Director. This position is very interesting as it covers the aspects of All-Hazards Disaster Response, such as Severe Weather, Tornadoes, Winter Storms, Terrorism and other man-made disaster incidents.

Curtis has been married for over 40 wonderful years to his wife Diane they have three daughters, Melissa, Cris and Micki, each are happily married and have their own children, giving Curtis, seven grandchildren, four boys and three girls. This is what first inspired him to write short stories to read to them.

In 1996 his daughters took some of his stories about the grandkids and had each grandchild illustrate their stories. They then had the stories with illustrations bound into a book called Grandpa Hawk’s Bedtime stories. This they presented to him as a Christmas gift that year, it is a very treasured gift and continues to inspire the kids to read the book on their own or still insist that Grandpa read to them.
