I've had a passion for writing and creating since I was a child. I began writing poetry at age 9 and amassed quite a volume by the time I entered my teens. I also loved to draw and created countless songs that I sang only to the world of nature around me. Not much has changed since childhood in regard to my desire to express my creativity.
I began my professional life working in editing and journalism and then shifted into copywriting and graphic design. In 1994, a debilitating car accident led me onto the path of healing. For many years, I continued to work part time as a graphic designer, copywriter, and editor as I focused much of my life on the healing arts both as a facilitator and as a teacher.
After 20 years, I closed the doors of my Reiki practice and devoted my time to editing and writing. My novels focus on a reality that lies just outside our own—a world in which humans can communicate with trees, nature beings, spirit guides, and angels. Characters often stumble into the mysteries of the hidden realms in these books. In Grandfather Poplar, the title tree speaks to Melissa to get her to stop annoying him. In The Michael Saga, the world awakens because of a persistent sound, but for a few brave incarnated angels, that resonance is a call to service and a trigger to begin their mission. My latest book, Archangel Book of Days, a volume of daily inspiration, comes out this summer (2024).
I established the Order of Archangel Michael in 2002 and held monthly meetings of A Gathering of Angels beginning in 2005. Both groups focused on connecting to the Creator and the angels, living the Light, and honoring the wisdom of the Divine.
I live outside Raleigh, North Carolina, with my husband, our beloved rescue dog, two noisy, cherished parrots, aged 43 and 34, and the beautiful trees and songbirds that grace our tiny forest. I enjoy polishing the prose of my editing clients at Creative Type, teaming with my husband in our publishing company, Realization Press, and creating uplifting writing and art.
