I like Bill Burr as much as I like Les Dawson. I like Bill Hicks AND Benny Hill. Ancient and modern. British and American. That's my motto when it comes to comedy. And that's what you get in my books. Some will like it, some definitely won't. Thems the breaks. I also like Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Larry Sanders Show (the greatest sitcom ever), the British and American Office, and Dr Strangelove (the greatest film ever). Then there's Mapp and Lucia, Jeeves and Wooster, Withnail and I and The League of Gentlemen. Times move quickly and tastes change. But as the novelist Eddie Lancaster so beautifully puts it, there's still a place for 'Vintage humour from a time before everyone got offended by everything and the difference between a joke and an insult was the expression on the face that said it.' Well said, Eddie.

One - two and three-star raters...if you could write a review rather than just leave a rating that would be more helpful. It's usually the case that you learn more from a bad or average review than a good one. But reviews like, 'Oh, it's a crap story' add nothing. And if you're going to mark down because your politics differ, let us know. At least then we know where we stand.

Please note, I'm not into Star Wars, Star Trek, Hitchhiker's Guide, computer games, Red Dwarf, Margaret Thatcher, Nigel Farage, Donald Trump, Jeremy Corbyn, or kidney beans.
