Steve Daut is a scientist, writer and speaker. After a successful 20 year career as a geologist and geophysicist, Mr. Daut spent a second career in the non-profit world of human services, applying himself to the support of people with developmental disabilities. During both of those careers, he spent much of his spare time writing and performing. He has published technical articles, seen a number of his plays produced on the stage, written and performed stand-up and sketch comedy. He has also acted at Master of Ceremonies for a number of charity events. Mr. Daut is a graduate of the Second City.
Beginning in 2013, Mr. Daut has been researching, writing and speaking, and working as a consultant for select organizations. He has become increasingly involved with storytelling, both as teller and MC. He is President of the Ann Arbor Storytellers Guild, and has performed at a variety of venues, including schools, libraries, artisan markets, and book stores. He has developed and conducted discussion groups and storytelling workshops on topics ranging from beginning to advanced. He co-produces a monthly storytelling event at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tea Room in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Books include Darker Fabrics, Buddha Science, and an upcoming book entitled Telling Twain, due for publication in August 2018.
