Kathy Hendricks

Kathy Hendricks is a Kansas native and a resident of the Flint Hills of Kansas. She is a wife, a mother and a teacher. Although she always planned to write a great American novel, little did she expect that novel to appear as children's books!

The pictures of "Fancy" are really photos of the family dog, who was adopted when Kathy saw the ad in the newspaper! Sascha is a German Shepherd/ Presa Canario mix who is not impressed to star in a book--and rarely sits still long enough to get her picture taken! She has been to several obedience classes, but she only goes to play with the other dogs!

The idea for Terry the Tractor came from her son's desire for a "tractor" book when he was a toddler. There were so few books about tractors that Kathy was reduced to cutting out pictures of tractors and gluing them on material, which she sewed into a book! Desperate measures, indeed!
