Roberto Valencia

Journalist. Born in Euskadi in 1976, he has lived in El Salvador since 2001. His chronicles, reports and columns are published in media such as The Washington Post, El País, Piauí, RT, Gatopardo, BBC, Vice, Internazionale, The New York Times... He has won, among other awards, the Gabo 2020 Award, the IAPA's 2015 Excellence in Journalism Award in the 'Chronicle' category, and the Latin American Award for Investigative Journalism 2013. He is the author and co-author of non-fiction books, including 'Made in El Salvador' (Índole, San Salvador, 2022), 'Carta desde Zacatraz' (Libros del KO, Madrid, 2018), 'Crónicas negras. Desde una región que no cuenta' (Aguilar, Mexico City, 2014) and 'Hablan de Monseñor Romero' (FMR, San Salvador, 2011).
