Boyd Petersen grew up in Utah and has been involved with business since he started selling greeting cards door to door when he was a Boy Scout.
He has received an education in marketing and computer engineering. He has worked as the marketing manager for a national telephone distribution company and has collaborated with several national expos, including Comdex and the Consumer Electronics Show.
Boyd has owned several businesses over the years. Most of those businesses involved advertising his products and services. He was always frustrated with the lack of flexibility the advertising options offered him.
In 1998, Boyd and his wife, Linda, purchased the South Valley Journal. It had a circulation of 17,000. He immediately implemented programs that helped businesses manage their advertising dollars more effectively. Flexibility of ad size and frequency was the key to giving businesses better control of their marketing message. He jumped into working with local Chambers of Commerce to not only build his own business but also to help other businesses.
This spirit of working with other businesses has built a reputation for Boyd as the person to ask when you are looking for a quality company to work with. He is all about helping businesses (whether they are his clients or not), connect with those that need their services. Some call it the Miracle on 34th Street marketing program.
This way of doing business has served Boyd well. The Valley Journals, as it was known when he sold them, grew to 14 community newspapers and 18 online sites.
Boyd has been involved with many chambers, both state and national press associations and loves networking with other business owners.
Boyd sold The Valley Journals in 2014 and now helps people put together marketing plans for their companies and trains entrepreneurs how to evaluate their ideas and build a strong customer base.
Boyd has written books and screenplays for years and has several fiction stories that can be downloaded. He seems to always be writing even when he isn’t writing his blog and newsletters for his business.
He loves to help businesses succeed. He also loves to not just tell stories that are work related, but loves to write them, too.
