Catherine Barnhoorn is mom to Mila, an author and a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and psychology and a diploma in marketing and visual communications. She is an active member of The South African Society for Integrative Medicine (SASIM) and works as a health coach, online educator, consultant and speaker focusing on topics including Food as Medicine, Gut Health, Childhood Nutrition, ‘Free-From’ Feeding, Nutrient-dense Foods, Picky Eating and Primary Food.
Her first book, 'Mila's Meals: The Beginning & The Basics' won 7 international book awards including a Gourmand 'Best In The World' Cookbook Award.
Catherine believes that food can be the “best form of medicine or the slowest form of poison” and she is on a mission to inspire, enable and empower parents to optimally nourish their children and themselves. She sees her and her daughter’s food intolerances as a blessing which has led them down a path of learning, discovery and good health – which will hopefully stand
them in good stead for years to come.
