In February 2015, she was told the devastating news that her father was going to jail. She didn’t let the heartache hold her back. Madison and her mother began looking for material for Madison to read to help her through her situation. There was a lack of honest material to a kid by kid. At the age of 10, Madison, on her own, decided to write a book to every kid in the world with an incarcerated parent. She wanted to let every kid that it's okay to love your parents, mistakes and all.

Since writing her book, she has written a letter and received a response from the President of the United States, spoke at the White House Convening on Women in the Criminal Justice System, spoke as a keynote at the International Coalition for Children with Incarcerated Parents (INCCIP) in New Zealand, has been featured in various articles, and is scheduled to speak throughout the world.

When Madison isn’t helping inspire change in the world, she’s your typical girl. Madison loves playing her viola, training in Tang Soo Do, and hanging out with her friends.
