Paul McClure has written more than two dozen books and had more than 200 articles published about Southern California history and the Country Western dance world.
McClure grew up in Chula Vista, California, then moved to the Los Angeles area to attend school and never left. He has a B.S. in business from California Western University, a Ph.D. in public administration from the University of Southern California, and was a RAND Fellow in Policy Analysis.
Over the years, he served as physics department administrator at the RAND Corporation, city manager of Adelanto, vice president of EFHutton, owner of American Art Glass Company, Country Western dance teacher at Montana's and InCahoots, and teacher and administrator with the Pomona Unified School District.
He has earned certifications as Certified Financial Planner from IBCFP, Senior Professional in Human Resources from SHRM, and Certified Chief Business Official from CASBO, and has held Q security clearance.
In 1992, McClure won the USADA's United States Country Western Dance Championship in Glendale, California. In 1993, he won first place in Pony Swing at the UCWDC World Championship in Nashville, Tennessee.
McClure has served as a president of the Adelanto School Board, and chairman of the Adelanto Planning Commission, board member of the San Dimas Historical Society, member of Old West Masonic Lodge #813, Sheriff of both the San Dimas and Los Angeles Corrals of Westerners, and member of the Belcaro HOA board of directors.
