Luis Casco

Luis Casco has been a makeup artist for some of the world's most famous celebrities, models, photographers, and fashion designers for more than 20 years. He has designed makeup looks for fashion shows, and has been the lead makeup artist backstage at red carpet events like the Primetime Emmy's®. He is currently appearing as the lead on-camera Makeup Artist on Lifetime's Project Runway and as a beauty coach on Canal Sony's Mexico's Next Top Model. On his fourth season as part of Project Runway Luis is seen by an average of 2 million viewers weekly in the US alone. His book #beautiful "50 Easy-to- create selfie-ready beauty looks" was released in September 2015 in English, Spanish and Portuguese versions and was featured in The New York Times in September 2015.

The selfie photographs in the book were all taken with a smartphone and features women of all ethnicities, ages and sizes.

Luis was born in San Salvador, El Salvador and moved to the United States with his family when he was fifteen.

Luis' career has taken him all over the world, including the fashion capitals of Paris and New York. While in New York, he began consulting with major cosmetic companies on product development and marketing campaigns. He has made several "expert" television appearances on major networks like CNN, CNN en Español, MTV, Lifetime, "E", The Style Network, MTV and for shows like "The Tyra Banks Show." "Project Runway" and "Project Runway All Stars." Luis' YouTube tutorial videos have received hundreds of thousands of views. He has thousands of engaged social media fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Luis has worked with many celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Heidi Klum, Milla Jovovich, Kristen Bell, Charlize Theron, Christy Turlington, Helen Mirren, Blythe Danner and Tina Fey. He has worked with well-known photographers such as Annie Leibowitz, Victor Skrebnesky, Antoine Verglas, Timothy White, Frederic Auerbach, and Steven White. Luis's editorial work has appeared in many fashion magazines including Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Glamour.

Luis currently serves as an international spokesperson and beauty ambassador as well as a sought-after motivational beauty speaker. In that capacity, he's gone on several international PR tours, where he's had a chance to meet beauty editors from major magazines in this hemisphere. He has also been asked to speak at major beauty trade shows and has stood before thousands in the US and abroad to discuss beauty trends and makeup tips. During those sessions, Luis has been asked virtually every makeup-related question imaginable, and has also gained quite a bit of insight into the types of things that his audiences are eager to know about makeup and beauty. He finds the act of sharing his knowledge with others deeply satisfying. Luis has also received training in public speaking and journalism from UCLA.

In the summer of 2012, Luis was invited to travel back to El Salvador to accept and award as one of the 100 most successful Salvadorans in the world today. He appears in the book "Las 100 historias que siempre quise saber" and accepted his award from El Salvador's Minister of Foreign Relations and the US Ambassador to El Salvador.

Makeup, beauty and helping others realize their dreams in the beauty industry are Luis' passions and his life's work. Luis currently resides in Los Angeles but works in New York on a regular basis.
