Ramiz Gilada

RAMIZ GILADA was born in Sudan at the time of the Suez Canal War and turmoil in the Middle East. Starting his education in Africa in a Catholic School, Ramiz continued his high school and college education in England. He obtained a B.S. Degree from Imperial College, University of London, and postgraduate M.S. Degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering. He was admitted to be an Associate of the City and Guilds of London Institute. His exposure between the three Continents of Africa, Europe, and America has given him a unique perspective of eastern and western cultures.

Ramiz is of Egyptian origin and is a member of the Coptic Orthodox Church centered in Alexandria, Egypt, which has spread throughout the world including the United States. Currently, the author is a contributing member to the teaching staff of the St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Colleyville, Texas. He served as a board member in the St. Abanoub Church in Euless, Texas and which was purchased to serve new comers from Egypt.

The board was tasked to rebuild the church to Coptic Architecture design as well as to attend to the needs of the growing congregation. He was also a contributing board member in the purchasing and conceptual design of the St. Philopateer Church in Richardson, Texas.

Ramiz is a practicing professional engineer employed in the field of nuclear power generation. He is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers specializing in structures, systems and components design. He is currently coauthoring a book for nuclear plants maintenance and safety. Having lived in the Northeast, he currently resides in Cleburne, Texas with wife Nagwa and have raised four children Sarah, Daniel, and twin daughters Julianne and Marie.
