Al Voss

I began my military career in '71, then, honorably discharged, I took on other skills and jobs. Having been a student of the Martial Arts (at the time of this writing, more than 40 years), I easily found work first as a bouncer, which led to being an Executive Protection Specialist (EPS).

In '80,with the economy so bad, I went back into the military until i retired in '96 as an E-8. Consequently, my entire career started with the shores of Vietnam, and ended with the sands of Desert Storm. While in the service I often moonlighted doing EPS work, bouncing in various clubs and other adventures better left unsaid. During my career, I was also earned the Competent Toastmaster Award, was a member of the Lion's Club, and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Upon military retirement, I earned a B.A. and worked uniformed security to augment the GI Bill. During this time my hobbies included Ballroom Dancing, Long distance running (120 miles a week), Mountain Biking, many times a week, and golf.

Since then I had a private practice in alternative/complimentary medicine, including mind/body healing. I then began my studies in herbalism.

Later, I became a competition Handgun shooter, and upon becoming disabled, began studying hermeneutics and eschatology. Having been a voracious reader most of my life, with most physical pursuits beyond my current my current condition, I decided to try my hand at writing.

If I am fortunate enough to earn an income at writing, I will donate ten percent of my earnings to one or more of the many branches of Wounded Warriors.

In the meantime, what is unusual about my writings, is that I avoid most profanities, particularly any variation of the F-word, or graphic descriptions of sex.

My goal is to write action-packed novels, that include romance, but that one could read aloud to a parent in Hospice, without having to skip words or pages, and books that if a child were to try to read over your shoulder, wouldn't have to ask, "What's that mean?"

If you've read this far, thank you. If you buy one of my books, please write a review.

Also, it is worth mentioning, that my first book, "The Survival Chronicles of Victor", Vol. 1 was not edited, though all of my other books have been.

Consequently, Vol. 1 of "Victor" is being edited as I write this, (27 Nov. 2015), and will no longer be the Black Sheep of my writings. I can be contacted at avtales on yahoo and as Al Voss on Facebook. Thanks again.
