Dorothy A. Osterholt earned her master's degree in Education from Antioch University. She began her career teaching grades K - 8 in the public schools in northern Vermont. From there she moved on to teach English and Math in grades 9-12 and serve as an Academic Supervisor of other teachers at Landmark School in Massachusetts. She also became a founding faculty and Associate Professor of Education at Landmark College in Vermont. Having over thirty years of experience working with those who learn differently, she received the Outstanding Educator's Award from the New England College and Reading Association in 2013, and in 2014 was an honored nominee for Excellence in Teaching First-Year Seminar by the National Resource Center of the First-Year Experience. She also received the Outstanding Article Award for her article, "A Collaborative Look to the Classroom" (2010) from the Journal of Developmental Education.
