Christy Perry Tuohey

Christy Perry Tuohey is a 30+ year veteran of newsrooms and classrooms. She was a TV news reporter and anchor in markets including Charleston/Huntington, WV; Charlotte, NC; and Columbus and Cleveland, OH. She has written for many print and online publications as well. In the 2000s, Perry Tuohey taught journalism classes at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

Christy's first two books, Panther Mountain: Caroline's Story and Panther Mountain: Lydia's Story, are historical fiction novels about her ancestors' lives before, during and after the Civil War in western Virginia/West Virginia. Her most recent release, A Place of Rest for Our Gallant Boys: The U.S. Army General Hospital at Gallipolis, Ohio, 1861-1865, is a nonfiction account of both Civil War horrors and hope – of Army surgeons and civilians risking their own lives to save others.
