I’ve adored writing from a young age, and the closet in my childhood bedroom is filled with half-finished manuscripts. In college, I actually began to write completed manuscripts- imagine that- and I haven't stopped since!
I have a weak spot for cozy mysteries, though I also enjoy writing science fiction, other novels that may or may not be considered literature, and somewhat depressing flash fiction. For the most part, I love to create female characters who are goofy, quirky and awkward yet somehow manage to kick butt. I have a passion for themes about a prevailing underdog and the unexpected victory. In addition to writing both fiction and freelance, I’m an English teacher for a virtual charter school, as well as a wife, mother, and graduate student. When I do manage to snag some free time, my hobbies include reading, canoeing, camping, traveling/exploring, blogging, and enjoying a cup of coffee while shooting the breeze with friends. I’m a firm believer that some of the best moments occur sitting around a campfire with a few close friends, s’mores, and a cold adult beverage. I love meeting new people, especially fellow writers- I feel like we share a unique perspective on the world and the ability to analyze both the living and imaginary in ways that might possibly be slightly cruel and unusual. ;) My blog can be found at the following link and is updated monthly-ish; it focuses on the topics of writing, teaching and parenting: http://wordsandcoffeewriting.blogspot.com/
