Debi King McMartin

A proud U.S. Air Force "brat" and self-professed nerd, with a little gypsy thrown in, Debi was born in Arlington, England and was fortunate enough to have traveled the world with her family during her formative years. When books and her own imagination were the only options for entertainment, Debi learned to spin yarns in her mind, the characters often springing to life and running away with the story. That's when she began putting pen to paper, eventually summoning the courage to submit her work for publication -- and the rest is history. When she grew up (pahaha -- and you believe that?), Debi became a published author of both fiction and nonfiction, a screenwriter, and an independent film producer. Her nonfiction works include STONE JUSTICE, the true story of Toni Jo Henry, the only woman ever executed in the electric chair in Louisiana and the last woman to be executed in the state. Debi's writing partner for STONE JUSTICE, Lyn Morgan, was recently featured on the ID (Investigation Discovery) Channel's Deadly Women Series 10, Episode 3: 'Bad to the Bone' (Miranda Barbour, Sharon Edwards, and Toni Jo Henry). Rights to the STONE JUSTICE book and screenplay were sold to Riverdream Productions and produced as a feature film titled THE PARDON, starring Jaime King, Jason Lewis, T.J. Thyne, and Academy Award nominee John Hawkes. Also authored by Debi is BEYOND THE CASTLE DOORS: A Soul Quest for the Holy Grail, co-written with Maria Morris O'Brien, and will soon be released as an Amazon Kindle book. Ms. McMartin served as Production Coordinator for the award-winning documentary MISSING, PRESUMED DEAD, produced by Hollywood filmmaker Bill Dumas and narrated by Ed Asner. She was the Producer for the Accolade Award-winning documentary DREAMERS AND GAMBLERS: Spirit of the Pioneer Wildcatters. Debi recently served as Co-writer and Producer of the soon-to-be-released independent film SKOOKUM: The Hunt for Bigfoot.
