DAVID M. WOLF, M.A. won a Gold Contest Prize for his novel MATT CONNEL, awarded by Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers (RMFW), an astonishingly active writer's association based in Denver, CO. He has also published other fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. David is a graduate of Rutgers College; he completed the M.A. in Philosophy, University of Colorado, Boulder in 1982.
Diverse career and life experience informs David's interests. He divided his time from 1969-1976 between Dublin, Ireland--studying literature--and Washington, D. C. doing organization development and management training. August, 1976 he moved to Boulder, Colorado, began M.A. studies at CU and, thereafter, resided in the area for the next twenty-five years. He was an active member of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, attending weekly writing study groups and annual conferences.
David's second novel, DAYLIGHT DOLPHIN, was praised for its combination of humor, satire, and science fiction. The book is a hoot; it's fun. You get to follow a telepathic dolphin bent on proving human beings are "intelligent creatures" while foiling the undersea intrigues of aliens from outer space.
A third novel, ABOVE THE HIGHEST BOUGH, set in Colorado, concerns a young woman--Angela Gold--who climbs an old-growth tree--aiming to save it from a big timber company. Angela gets in serious trouble but discovers unexpected mysteries more vast than she'd imagined. The novel is concise yet far-reaching, ranging from environmental themes to near-death experience (NDE).
LATE THE SWEET BIRDS SANG: Love Stories is centered on love reborn in the latter years for its characters. It's romance and, at times, wish fulfillment. Enjoy the prose and its open heart.
David's many travels to Ireland led to a work of collected poetry, IRELAND'S WINTER & OTHER POEMS.
His style--in prose and poetry--is crisp, free of vague allusions and showy metaphor, that is, it reflects long experience with philosophic analysis and the best use of words for clarity and distinction. When you read one of his poems, you know what it's meant to be about.
PHILOSOPHY THAT WORKS 2nd Edition, non-fiction, shows David's highly developed philosophy, It's full of surprises and advances an original analysis of the the nature of truth in its varied forms. David is also a Certified Counselor with the American Philosophical Practitioners' Association.
REVOLUTION & LOVE'S YOUNG JOURNEY is written in the mode of new autobiography, telling the story of the writer's young life and loves that led to his literary contributions. It's honest and a good read.
