Sandy S. Ayala

Sandy's love of writing started when she was in grade school. She began writing short stories and poetry, in fact, one of her short stories won her a state award for “Best Short Story.” Her most recent published works include Windy Wishingwell – Riding Shotgun For Santa, a Christmas poem about a little girl who is asked to ride with Santa. A Great Adventure where Windy's courage is put to the test “Can she defeat the Evil Elf and save Christmas?”

Her first release, Bella's Ball, is a magical adventure where Bella is given a magical ball for her birthday; A ball that bounces her from one place to another where she encounters creatures big and small. A fun book that encourages children's curiosity about animals, places and learning.

Among her current works in progress: Windy Wishingwell – The Teapot Dream; Windy Wishingwell – The Magical Land of Horses; Windy Wishingwell – Always Chasing Rainbows. Additionally, she is revamping an earlier version of a Sci-Fi Action Adventure she wrote several years ago and is working on a new Young Adult Magical Fantasy.

Sandy, an award winning Realtor for over 11 years, represents both buyer's and seller's and has successfully closed hundreds of Short Sales. She has lived in the Las Vegas area for over 30 years; is a Viet Nam era U.S. Army Veteran who raised two wonderful sons as a single parent for almost 20 years and has two incredible grand children who are the lights of her life.

She has a Bachelors Degree in Industrial/Clinical Psychology from Augusta State University, an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Hawaii and has completed part of the coursework for her Master’s Degree. She is a former Affiliate Member of the American Institute of Architects, former Youth of America Bowling Association certified coach/instructor/adviser, has been involved in numerous fund raising efforts for charities and non-profit organizations. And she loves animals, music, movies, reading and of course writing.  

Her past career experience was in the realm of Marketing, Publishing and Public Relations. She was involved in Marketing some of the largest and most successful Architects, Engineers and General Contractors in the Las Vegas area. She has served as publisher of a Local magazine in which she published over fifty articles; historical recounts of such Las Vegas entities as Circus Circus Enterprises, Clark County Library and School districts, The City of Henderson, The City of Las Vegas, and many others. Additionally, she wrote numerous articles about politicians (her favorite, an article on Margaret Thatcher in which she had the pleasure of briefly meeting the Lady herself.) In addition, she was the Advertising and Events Director for a Nevada non-profit organization, an Architectural Reporter for McGraw-Hill's Construction Information Systems Division.
