William Flood

William Flood is a freelance historian interested in twentieth-century commercial culture - an evangelist for retro Americana, diners, drive-ins, Googie architecture, tiki, old motels, neon signs, vintage gas stations, mid-century modern & route 66 and beyond. He has written numerous articles and spoken on subjects such as Route 66 and the National Road, roadside architecture, tiki culture, and 1950’s modernism. He is the author of Images of America: Whitehall Ohio. Bill serves as the president of the Whitehall Historical Society which was once home to the famed Kahiki Polynesian restaurant. Bill is also the creator/moderator of the Tiki Ohio Facebook group which is dedicated to tiki enthusiasts in Ohio and surrounding states.
