Candace Ruffin, born Candace Taylor, is originally from East Cleveland, OH where she attended and graduated from Shaw High School. She went on to pursue her Bachelors of Arts Degree in English from Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. After exploring the workforce for several years, she chose to pursue her dream of teaching in 2005. She taught grades 3-5 for 7 years.
In 2012 Candace left the classroom to focus on her own loving family and became a Stay-at-Home mom. Finding herself with a little more time on her hands, she set out to explore a career in writing. What better way to combine her two passions than by writing for children?
Candace has been a writer all of her life, drawing inspiration from her loved ones and life experiences. After several years of working with struggling readers and battling reading comprehension challenges in her personal life, she found the inspiration to write for children. She is now actively pursuing her passion for writing. With the support of her husband and two children, Candace’s first children’s book was released in May of 2015. She currently resides in the state Florida.
