Holly Painter is the author of The pressure of all that light (Rebel Satori, 2022); My Pet Sounds Off: Translating the Beach Boys (Finishing Line, 2020); and Excerpts from a Natural History (Titus, 2015). Her next poetry collection, At last, we listen closely: cryptic crossword poems, will be published in 2023 by Black Spring.
Raised in Michigan, Holly earned her BA at the Univ. of Southern California and her MFA at the Univ. of Canterbury in Christchurch. She has lived in the U.S., New Zealand, and Singapore and published poetry and fiction in journals on four continents, including Nimrod, Bombay Gin, Barrelhouse, The Cream City Review, Landfall, Sport, and the NZ Listener.
