Tracy Wayland

Tracy Wayland (1970-present) is originally from Seattle, WA and currently lives in Northern California with her husband. She has made her living as a technical analyst but has always had a strong artistic side and a caring heart. The idea for her first series of children's books, Children in Grief, was born from the ashes of her life's greatest tragedy, the death of her only son in 2013.

A lover of children with a newfound sensitivity for significant loss, she decided to rebuild her life and use her intense pain to help others in similar situations. Her unique perspective on this topic, as well as her love of children of all ages, has inspired her to write books which reach a grieving child through the use of their imagination to drive a positive message home... that their loved one is never further away than their own heart.

The Children in Grief series of books was written by a grieving mother to assist children grieving a significant loss. These books approach the topic of loss from a child’s perspective and take the reader on a journey of imagination in the quest to explore the questions they have about where their loved one has gone. These books are written with humor, love, and a positive message for the whole family!
