Deamer Dunn

Deamer is an author of many books including two related series that are particularly oriented to travel. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, lived in Switzerland and the Washington D.C. area, before settling in Monterey County California in the early 1980’s. He currently resides in the birth city of John Steinbeck, Salinas California, the former home of his dinner only restaurant, Pajaro Street Grill. “Before selling my restaurant to concentrate on my career as a novelist/artist, for twenty years I worked the restaurant, while feeding my developing passion for pen and brush.” Deamer now spends much of his time in Tijuana Mexico and traveling the world with his recurring chef character, Omar T Black. “By my third novel, the young chef I knew I would have to create, had successfully formed in my mind. I call this series of culinary adventures 'Travel Fiction,' because each location becomes a character in itself. The travel fiction aspect is enhanced with descriptions of actual sites, restaurants, bookstores, galleries and shops—including sketches, favorite lists and recipes. I have a list of some fifty locations where I hope to write Omar novels and create Sketchbooks – come join the adventure!” Also, keep an eye out for Omar T the TV series. It is in development!

Deamer "Sketchbooks," is another series which can be travel companions, whether you take it along or you let them take you. These books are meant to inspire you. Each sketch is partnered with a blank page—you can add notes, comments, poems, words of a song, or your own artistic doodles—innovation inspired by creative human activity. The idea is that this is a book that you can make your own.
