Kathleen B. Duncan

Kathleen B. Duncan is a wife of one, mom of seven, and grandmother of many. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from the University of Oklahoma where she studied Accounting and met her husband Ron. Ron and Kathleen have been married 38 years.

Before the birth of her fourth child, Kathleen retired from her full-time accounting career and became a stay-at-home mom and part-time accountant, eventually homeschooling all seven of their children.

After the death of their twenty-year-old son in August 2013, Kathleen became a blogger and author. She began to write with honesty and transparency about her grief journey and about healing with the help of a loving, living God. Her new writing career soon led to four books on grief.

In 2018, Kathleen became the Court Appointed Guardian and Conservator of her stepmom E, a beautiful woman suffering from dementia due to Alzheimer’s Disease. In 2020 E moved into their home; Kathleen became her full-time caregiver.

Caring for E led Kathleen to search for age and ability appropriate activity books she could use to help E with her cognition and speech. Finding none, Kathleen tapped into her experience homeschooling and created the “Fun Brain Games for Adults” series. These workbooks are designed for adults in stages 4-5 of dementia or other developmental disabilities.

Caring for a person who has lost her memory caused Kathleen to realize how important it is to write things down while one can. She and Vicky Noland Fitch, the author of "Dementia with Grace," compiled a list of questions to help people leave a lasting legacy for future generations. “My Life Story” is a workbook to help you record your experiences and thoughts for your children and grandchildren to cherish.

Kathleen and her husband Ron live on 15 acres of mostly mesquite and cactus in north Texas with their black pug Molly. Their seven children, live in Georgia, New Mexico, Utah, Texas, North Carolina, and Heaven.
