Joseph D. Shellim

Hi folks. This is an About Me.

As a documentary film writer for 25 years I produced a diverse range of subjects such as Making Movies, W.W.II: The Frank Capra Documents, Deep Space Encounters and biographical films of The Beatles and James Dean.

My ideal writing/producing style would be: Presenting ‘REAL LIFE & REAL HISTORY’ disguised as: ‘THIS CAN’T BE TRUE NAIL-BITING FICTION’ – and vice versa with fiction. Then to back it up with validation, and hopefully stay a reader toward a suspensful climax - to end with a surprise, even to astound, and to enable the reader to ponder over it.

The first century History has always been an underlying intrigue throughout; it remains among the most impacting one for humanity. It all began with: 'What do you think Mighty Rome’s war with minuscule Judea was REALLY all about?' Thereafter it became complicated. The results are quite unconventional, but I believe, historically faithful and incumbent today, and validated with contextual historical archive sources. Certainly, this was not a war for power, land or fame, nor of an unruly minuscule province compared with the empire's other conquered nations. The Jews held positions of high esteem with Rome; many Roman Emperors were married to Jews. But what then?

The First Century brought us where we are, its history-turning events include the greatest of all Holy Wars, when Belief battled with the Might of History's greatest super power. Contrary to what is imagined, the Roman archives give the highest measure of respect of their battle with the Jews. One factor stands out as poignant. Had the Jews seccumbed to the Roman demands of Emperor worship, a most reasonable demand considering the same was expected of all nations - the Hebrew belief would have most probably disintergrated, along with three world religions. Perhaps we would all be worshiping Jupiter today. Thereby, historically, this appraisal gives to the Jews what belongs to the Jews. The Roman writers assure us of such a provision.

"Ben Hur II - Exile" – published in 2015, is a work of ten years pondering and research with scholars, writers, religious figures, historians and discerning members of the general public. I took actual historical archives and re-wrote them for today's audiences. This book is designed to 'mainstream' the ancient historical texts in a reader-friendly mode to make this history a stirring read. The tedious and complicated archives, biblical references and its charismatic figures come alive with the historical events infused with real-life emotive dialogue and dramatic action. Its vast clickable index of archives, quotes, archaeological relics and Time-Lines act as an ever handy reference almanac and is enhanced with 52 lavish biblical paintings, illustrations and new art works. Fractional dates are rounded; similar names (such as ‘Eleazar’) are presented as one person.

So what do you think the Roman war with the Jews was all about - and what does History say?

MY SECOND BOOK.

In 2016 I published “PHILISTINE-TO-PALESTINE” - a history of the world’s most controversial issue, now unfolded along with its political and theological incumberances. It features Ten Deceptions of the 20th century that will be intensely debated; it may also change your views of the Middle-East Conflict and its impacts across the nations. The long suppressed and de-classified archives of the 20th Century expose the chaos and mayhem haunting the world today. Causes and effects apply. Also included are 4,000 year historical investigations of the origins of "WHO ARE PALESTINIANS?" and "WHO ARE ARABS?" Again, 'What Does History Say' applies. It is an explosive history of deceptions that linger hovering. This book will give you powerful insights and knowledge, and make you a considerably better debater and conversationalist.

MY CURRENT WORKS:

• “STAYING ALIVE! THE BRIGITTE GABRIEL STORY” Awaited by Millions - The Movie That Has To Be Told. [Movie Screenplay].

• “EMANATION” – Beware of Your Own Shadow. It’s Not You Anymore. An Out-Of-Body New-Age Thriller. [Book and Screenplay]

Joseph Shellim.
