Jim Heath

Jim Heath is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, author, and political analyst known for sharp, historic-focused storytelling and decades of frontline reporting on presidential politics. He's anchored and covered major national campaigns from Arizona to South Carolina to Ohio, served as chief political correspondent at WBNS, and produced six documentaries on American elections. Jim is the author of several political books, including Front Row Seat at the Circus, Covering Mitt, and How the South Turned Red. In 2025, he released The Modern Jefferson Bible: The Third Testament, a contemporary-language adaptation of Jefferson's Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, bringing a historic text into the modern era. He's also created work ranging from investigative political analysis to children's literature (Mylo the Panda) and a personal caregiving memoir (Taking Care of Mom). Before entering journalism, Jim served as chief of staff to a state Corporation Commissioner and later as a congressional press secretary. His reporting has earned two Emmys, the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism (team award), and honors from the Associated Press and the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists.
