Patty Pert Goes on Vacation is Kelly's big debut. What began as a childhood letter from her grandfather, Col. Edward D. Wooten, over 30 years ago slowly blossomed into a children's book.

Patty Pert was a distant memory for Kelly and it would be years before Patty would develop into the character she is today. The year was 2004. Sadly Kelly's dearly loved grandfather passed away. During this time she was helping her mother sort through his papers and files. Kelly came across a file with typed letters in it. Excited to see such works from her grandfather, Kelly opened it quickly.

To her surprise they were carbon copies of the letters he had written to her as a young child. It was an amazing gift to have found them. Kelly quickly knew she had to find a way to bring these letters and adventures to print.

Unfortunately, Kelly was not able to find resources that could bring her first book to light. Therefore the file sat. The story board and mock book was filed with the letters in hopes of someday finding a way to bring them to print.

Fast forward 10 years and thanks to new technology in publishing, Patty Pert's first book is being released to the public! Patty Pert Goes on Vacation is now available.
