Claire Flatowicz

Claire Gummers Passer Flatowicz was born in New York City, daughter of a father who was a Holocaust survivor and a mother who was able to escape Germany before World War II.

She has lived most of her life in Omaha, Nebraska. She was an elementary school teacher for 23 years. Claire is the mother of three children and step-mother of two daughters. She has six grandchildren, who are the loves of her life along with her husband, Pierre.

Claire wrote a bi-weekly blog for the Omaha World-Herald for almost two years and is still an occasional contributor.

This book contains most of her blogs and commentary on each one. She has written about many subjects that her peers will identify with.

Most of the proceeds of this book will go to CureSearch, an organization that does remarkable research for cures of childhood cancers. Two of her children fought cancer and fortunately won their battles.

Other interests include duplicate bridge and mah jongg as a player, teacher, and tournament organizer. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering.
