Darryl V. Smith

Darryl V. Smith was born the 3rd child of 7 in Chicago Illinois to a single mother. They eventually found themselves in Chicago's notorious Robert Taylor Homes Housing projects. It took faith, hope and his love of the arts to provide a vehicle of escape. He attended Vandercook College of Music and Graduated from Roosevelt University with his BA in sociology.

Darryl currently works in the same type of community he grew up in providing much needed help to youth. His first book I The Son is a creative collection of poems, short stories and slices of the world around him.
