Ryan Nicholas Danker is a church historian and teaches Church History and Methodist Studies at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Originally from Portland, OR, Danker attended Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID. Subsequently he earned graduate degrees from both Duke University, Durham, NC and Boston University in Massachusetts. He served two churches in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church and before his appointment at Wesley, he taught at Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC.
Danker is particularly interested in Wesley and Methodist studies, early Evangelicalism, Anglicanism, and the intersection of social, political, and theological history. He serves as a member of the U.S. Roman Catholic-United Methodist dialogue. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and travel.
