Lynne Davis

From the halls of the Vienna State Opera to the bars of Austin, Texas musician Lynne Davis has experienced what many only dream about - maintaining a sustainable career in music. Having earned a reputation as a musician's musician, she has contributed her aggressive, groove-oriented bass playing, her dynamic piano playing and widespread production skills to numerous recordings for film, television, and musical theatre. In addition to her career as a performing artist, Lynne has developed her own unique approach to teaching music and has been fine-tuning those ideas over 30 years of working with students of the piano, instrumental music and music theory. Her knowledge and passion for teaching landed her a position at the Los Angeles Music Academy, where she spent 14 years sharing her ideas about music and creativity, and in 2008 Lynne was named adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. Lynne has been a contributing writer for Bass Player Magazine, and also authored a regular column in Bass Guitar Magazine under the byline "The Theory Dominatrix". She published her first print books "Music Games, Brain Teasers and Puzzles" and "My Musical Adventures" in 2019, having preciously published five audio-enhanced eBooks, "Bassic Basslines", "Mastering the ii - V - I Progression", "Mastering Piano Accompaniment" and "Mastering Bass Technique", all available on Amazon. Her other publications include a series of "Digital Lesson Packages", in-depth single-topic lesson plans for students and teachers of all instruments, featuring audio enhancements and step-by-step instructions on how to learn or teach the material. Lynne maintains a website housing free resources for students and teachers of music which has been referred to as a "treasure trove" by music teachers worldwide.
