I, Jake Posey, am the founder of FSBO Academy, an organization that helps homeowners sell their home without a real estate agent. FSBO Academy is the first professional website dedicated to teaching homeowners a step-by-step process for selling their home on their own. Students receive a plan to follow and are taught in detail how to execute each part of the plan.

FSBO Academy was founded when I started researching how to sell my first house on my own. I found two types of articles during this research. The first type of article was written by Real Estate Agents “teaching” you how to sell your house on your own and then scaring the hell out of you if you tried it on your own. The second type of article was offered by websites selling MLS listings. These articles were a “mile wide and an inch deep.” They told you what you needed to do, but not how to do it.

In the end, I got scared and hired an agent to sell my house. However, after my house sold I saw how easy the process was. This prompted me to interview homeowners who were selling their home without an agent. I put that knowledge to work by helping my mother sell her house on her own.

After more than 50 interviews of successful FSBO homeowners and industry professionals, I decided to start the academy to share what I had learned. Selling your home on your own is super easy!!!
