John Quick

John Quick was born in middle Tennessee in the mid-50's and continues to live there in a rural farming community in a small rustic cabin he built himself in 1980. He taught biology for 13 years and then built hand carved Windsor chairs until his retirement in 2016.

"The Rascals of Stafford Street:Laughing and Losing during the Remarkable Summer of '62" is a short novel published in 2015. The follow up novel, "The Neighbor We Never Knew," includes an edited version of the previous book as Part I, and is the author's first full-length novel. The next short novel in the series, "The Importance of Being Frank," was published the following year. The final full-length novel in the series, "Only A Hummingbird Flies Backwards," was published in Sept.2017. All of the novels in the "Rascals of Stafford Street" series are loosely based on the author's childhood while growing up in a small southern town during the early to mid-60s.

"A Child's Tale Of A Dragon's Tear," published in 2017, is the author's only children's book.

In 2018-2019, a two part series was published, "The Revolution of John Washington" and "Revolution, 2021."

In 2018 and 2020, a two volume series was published, "Where the Smallmouth Lives: Small Stream Fishing at its Best" and " Where The Smallmouth Lives, Volume II: Revelations of an Old Wader."

The author's latest, his tenth published book, "Transformation Thru The Year: Thinking Out Loud on Facebook" is a short collection of his favorite Facebook posts collected over the past five years.
