Kevin Derrick Brady

Kevin Brady (1967- ) was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and lived there until age twelve when his family moved to Brooklet, Georgia, for a year and a half in 1980. It was on a road between Statesboro and Brooklet that his parents found an old fixer upper home that they bought and moved to the Clito community on a piece of land they had purchased. This house would become the inspiration for Kevin's book "Ghostly Encounters" since a lot of paranormal happenings happened inside it. Kevin is the oldest of five siblings with one half brother and half sister. He graduated as an Honor Graduate from Statesboro High School in 1985 and received a B.B.A. in Business Management from Georgia Southern University in 1998 after taking a seven year break in 1988 to help run his family car detail business, Brady's Auto CleanUp, before returning in 1995 to finish up. A Halloween story contest in the local Statesboro Herald in 1998 is what re-ignited Kevin's childhood desire to write and after he kept adding this and that a 200 page novella called "A Helluva Home" resulted. Although he tried to publish it with Dorrance Publishing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was forced to forget about it once he was quoted a price of $7,700.00 to publish it. A few months later, both "A Haunted Mansion" and "Thirteen Ghosts" came out in movie theaters which he felt may have come from his story since his story was about a haunted house and contained eleven ghosts instead of thirteen. He virtually was at a standstill in writing another whole book while he continued starting and stopping on other book ideas on yellow legal pads through the years. During this time he enjoyed being a car salesman for four years and after that helped his wife run her own daycare for seven years. He finally asked for free book publishing on Yahoo Answers and was told about Smashwords in a reply to his question. Then, he published his first e-book "Ghostly Encounters" in June 2015 and found out about Createspace after Googling "free paperback publishers" and published the same book in paperback through their company a month later. Although he put out "Sinless House" at the request of his wife, Charlene a few months later, he grabbed "A Helluva Home" off the shelf collecting dust and published it as his third book once he had broken the ice to getting published. Since then he has been selling books both online and directly to his fans thus enjoying having finally become a published author. He now has sixteen books out, four of which were his wife's ideas. His wife, Charlene, divulged her first idea to him and had him type it up, and "The Sinless House" resulted. She also gave him the ideas for "Won't God Do It?","Blood Thirst", and "Payback". She has also been helpful with thoughtful ideas in some of his other books and assisting with the book cover designs. Kevin has other titles including "Martha's Revenge," "The Self Defense App," "The Code," "My Two Cents," "Dead Phone," and "Crazy." They both have other story ideas up their sleeves and plan to keep releasing them as time passes. Kevin and Charlene are happily married with a son, daughter-in-law, two grandsons, and one granddaughter. He loves playing golf; fishing; barbecuing; playing lottery; going to yard sales with his wife on Saturdays; going to car shows; going to church; reading; writing books; and watching food shows, and watching good movies, especially scary ones.
