My name is Dani Golden and I am an author, entrepreneur, marketing strategist, and former competitive swimmer whose work explores identity, competition, challenging convention, and finding humor in the absurd.
A graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, I built my career in Advertising, Marketing, and Entertainment. When life threw me more than a few curveballs, I found myself sitting in my therapist's office when it was brought to my attention that I talked a lot about competition. When my therapist suggested I go home and write about it, I did.
My curiosity to explore competition and how it impacts us on a daily basis led me to write LIFE. GAME ON! A Competitor's Guide. I think I was writing it for the younger version of myself who desperately sought a manual on how to navigate the tumultuous competitive landscape of life.
In an effort to understand competition and how to successfully navigate it when it comes to sports, work, relationships, and everyday life, I found tools and a perspective that helped me. The creative problem solver in me felt compelled to share my findings with others.
Competition isn't about defeating everyone else. It's about mastering yourself, quieting the noise, and honing in on the healthy competitor that resides in each of us.
I continue to explore, create, write, challenge convention, and laugh at the absurd.
