Jeffrey M. Fortney

Jeffrey M. Fortney is a former U.S. Air Force firefighter and fire service training instructor. He began writing stories as a youngster in 1970. He "sold" his first story (about a dog and his boy) to the Arizona Republic's kids' page in 1971. For his story, he received a copy of Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan of the Apes", beginning a lifetime love of ERB's storytelling! To encourage his writing, his parents bought him a manual typewriter in 1972.

When not writing science fiction, military action/adventures, and political thrillers for fun (and profit!), Jeff is retired and spends his time helping his wife with projects for their home. He is happily married to Julie, his bride of almost 43 years. They have 4 children, 6 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a dog.
