RK Michaels

RK Michaels is a gay yogi, writer, musician and fancier of felines. He is a long-time student of Rishi Maha Mandaleshwar Sri Shambhavananda (Babaji) and a resident of one of Babaji's ashrams, the Konalani Yoga Ashram on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

RK was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up in a well-to-do family whose members strived relentlessly to lift their degree of dysfunction to the next level. This provided him with perfect fodder for a memoir and autobiographical essays that fall into the "truth is stranger than fiction" category.

In the not so strange department, Michaels recently began writing children's yoga and meditation stories that are quirky, bright and humorous. He is a vocal proponent of introducing children to yoga and meditation at a young age.
