Lauren Cecile

Lauren Cecile is a judge in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Spelman College and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, she is married with two children and enjoys family time, reading, playing tennis and going to the movies. She was inspired to write "Eyes Like Mine" after visiting the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California as well as several African-American history museums. Movies such as "Rosewood," "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas," and "The Butler" also stoked her fascination about the nature of prejudice and the parallel experiences of Blacks and Jews in a racially volatile society.
